Mary (Eutsler) Deuel

Mary Deuel, 75, Lusk, passed away Feb. 21, 2008 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper due to complications from surgery. Cremation has already taken place and memorial services will be held March 1, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. at the Lusk Elks Lodge #1797 in Lusk.

Mary was born to Joe and Hazel (Meeker) Eutsler May 13, 1932 at the family homestead northwest of Manville. Mary received her education at Stallman Country School and two years at Manville High School until she went to work to help her family when her father became ill. On Oct. 5, 1952 Mary married Darrell Deuel in Gering, Neb. Since Mary was born and raised on a ranch, she enjoyed all aspects of ranch life. Mary and Darrell worked on several ranches in and around Niobrara County, until her husband went to work in the oil field.

Mary was a homemaker, and enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching the children play in the yard that her and her husband kept ready for them.

Mary was a past member of the DOES Drove #64 in Lusk as well as the DOES Drove #48 in Riverton.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell of Lusk; daughters Sandy Thomas and husband Fred, Polly Erlewine and husband Sam, both of Lusk; Darla Knuth and husband Ron, of Riverton; and Michelle Murphy of Grand Junction, Colo.; brothers Ted Eutsler of Buffalo; Dick Eutsler, and Jim Eutsler both of Osage; and Bob Eutsler of Simi Valley, Calif.; sisters Betty Truman of Aloha, Ore.; and Billy Arnold of Torrington; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Hazel Eutsler, two brothers, Charlie Eutsler and Tom Eutsler, and three sisters, Orabelle Martin, Bertha Sipes, and Pat Trout.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like all memorials to go to the Lusk Elks #1797 Youth Activities.
