YOUNG GIRL DIES OF SCARLATINA AFTER AN EMERGENCY OPERATION

Miss Fern Lucille Brenner of Dogie Dies Sunday, One Week After Being Stricken

Fern Lucille Brenner, 17, of Dogie, Wyo., in the northern part of Niobrara County, died Sunday morning at 4:00 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. L. Lynn of Lusk, the victim of scarlatina following an opration for a dermoid tumor.

Miss Brenner underwent an emergency operation Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Lusk Hospital, but was removed from the hospital Thursday, when it became known that she had scarlet fever. She was taken to the home of Mrs. L. Lynn, a nurse, where she received treatment until the time of her death early last Sunday.

Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m., Rev. Edwin F. Irwin officiating. The funeral services were closed to the public, only immediate members of the family being present, and were held from Mrs. Lynn's home. Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery and commital services conducted at the graveside.

The deceased is survived by her father and mother, Mr and Mrs. Fred R. Brenner, of Dogie; and two brothers, Lynn, 11, and Darrell, 19. Two other children preceded Miss Brenner in death.

The Brenners are homesteaders and have lived in the north country for the past several years, coming here from Marengo, Iowa, where Fern Lucille was born.
