Vere D. Braley Buried at Lusk

Graveside services for Vere D. Braley were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Lusk Cemetery where Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Braley, 67, of Dayton, Wyo., died July 1 at Sheridan Hospital.

He was born February 16, 1907, in Terry, Mont., and as a young man was a bronc rider on the professional rodeo circuit and known as "Powder River Slim". He retired from rodeo in 1930 and made his home in Mississippi.

In 1946 he moved to Utah and worked as a carpenter. He also lived in Colorado, Montana and California and in 1960 moved to Sundance, Wyo. He became ill, retired and moved to Dayton in 1972.

He married Marion Hamaker February 28, 1953 in Forsyth, Mont. She survives him, and their son, Duane lives in Minneapolis where he works for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hal (Bernice) Haun, Pico Rivera, Calif., and Mrs. Dick (Kathleen) Crossby, Owatonna, Minn.; a brother Glen of Miles City, Mont.; two grandchildren and a nephew, Jim, of Sheridan.
