William E. Yeager

Memorial services for William E. Yeager, 78, were Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1986 in the Peet Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Frank Blish officiating.

Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Yeager died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1986 at the V.A. Hospital in Hot Springs, SD. He was born Sept. 3, 1908 in Cumberland, MD, the son of Byers and Vergie Yeager. He grew up in Cumberland and at the age of 16 joined the Army. He spent 17 years in the service, 15 of them stationed at Cheyenne.

Following his discharge from the Army, Mr. Yeager lived in California until moving to Jay Em in 1971 and to Lusk in 1973. Mr. Yeager had worked as an auto mechanic nearly all his life. He married Nellie Vawter on Dec. 12, 1941, at Kimball, NE. She preceded him in death in 1983.

Survivors include three sons, Bill, Bob and Art Yeager; three daughters, Lillian Mochel, Linda Douma and Betty Hand; his mother, Vergie Yeager of Cumberland, MD; 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
