Zeno Reinig dies Sunday

Zeno Reinig, Lusk, died in the Scottsbluff, Neb. hospital Sunday. Rosary was held here Tuesday evening at the Peet Mortuary Chapel, and The Rev. Bernard Bianco officiated over Mass for a Christian burial at St. Leo's Catholic Church Wednesday morning at 10:00.

Mark Lohr sang "Ave Maria" and "Beyond the Sunset." Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery. Active bearers were Henry Meyers, Frank Kuhn, Robert Baribeau, Edwin Tschacher, Bill Dockery and Norman Brillhart. Honorary bearers were Calvin Dillon, Martin Brozovich, Rod Geisingr, Joe Pfister, Paul Pfister and Chuck Bruch.

Zeno Matthew Reinig was born April 29, 1909, at Portsmouth, Iowa, the son of Jacob and Barbara Ludwig Reinig. He received his early education at Catholic Prep School in Portsmouth and then attended college in Des Moines, Iowa. After graduating with a major in agriculture he moved to Omaha, Neb., where he was associated with his brother Harry in the livestock business. After his father's death he moved to Kentucky with his brother Bill where he worked in a dispensary. In 1936 he moved to Gering, Neb., where he worked for Beauty Girl Creamery as head cheese maker.

On Nov. 21, 1937, he was married to Ellen Irene Senters at Scottsbluff. They moved to Lusk in 1940 where he worked for Buck Culver. They then moved to Denver where he was employed in construction. In 1954 they moved to Los Angeles where he worked for the city schools. In 1966 he retired to San Bernardino because of poor health. They returned to Lusk to make their home in 1969. He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church of Lusk.

He is survived by his widow of Lusk; brother William J. Reinig of Lexington, Ky.; sister Ceil Gass of Omaha, Neb.; and Edna Austin and Edith McGinnis, sisters-in-law and Vic Senters, brother-in-law, all of Lusk.
