Mrs. Magoon Dies Here Tues.

Mrs. Elvina Magoon, 81, died Tuesday morning at the Manring Convalescent Home. She had been in poor health for the past several months. Funeral services are being held this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from Peet Chapel with Rev. Jacob Nein officiating. Burial will be in the Lusk Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Warren Larson, and two sons, William Magoon and Jack Magoon, all of Lusk.

Magoon Funeral Held Thursday

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from Peet Chapel for Mrs. Elvina Magoon, 81, well known pioneer woman of Niobrara County who died February 10 at the Manring Convalescent Home. Rev. Jacob Nein officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Walter Fernau, Mrs. Robert Bramlet, Harry Lyon and Dr. Richard Collins sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist.

Pallbearers were C. E. Marvin, Charles Rejda, Dave Kimbrough, Orval Allen, Walter Klemke and Lavonne Pfeifer.

Elvina Louise Lipke was born November 29, 1877 near Juneau, Doge County, Wis. The fifth child of William and Louise Lipke.

Following her education she worked for some time as a receptionist at the Dodge County Hospital. She later moved to Milwaukee where she was employed as a dressmaker.

April 22, 1902 she married William Magoon and returned with him to his ranch 15 miles northwest of Lusk. They were the parents of three children.

After her husband's death in 1934 she continued to live on the ranch. "Auntie Bill," as she was affectionately known, always welcomed anyone who came to her home. Many times before the days of cars the floors of the kitchen and living room were covered with bed rolls of friends and strangers, all of whom made it their haven when near at nightfall.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Warren Larson; two sons, William L. Magoon and Jack Magoon all of Lusk. Five grandsons, four granddaughters, one great granddaughter and a brother, William Lipke, Juneau, Wis. also survive.
