Obituary

William Lee Hobbs was born in Decatur County, Indiana, Dec. 31st, 1826, and departed this life March 2nd, 1918, having reached the remarkable age of 92 years, 2 months and 2 days.

With his parents he came to Missouri when a boy and here in Livingston County he was married on Easter Sunday, 1846, to Miss Catherine L. Foreman. To this union 8 children were born of whom the following survive him: J. L. and G. F. Hobbs and Mrs. Kate Fowler of Lusk; Wm. L. Hobbs of Pinedale, Wyo., Mrs. S. Slaymaker of Douglas, Wyo., J. F. Hobbs of Nome Alaska; Mrs. Van Blarcom of California, besides a number of grandchildren.

He came to Wyoming in 1880 where he since made his home. He united with the Christian or Disciples church in early life and remained a faithful member of that church until he joined the Church Triumphant.

The deceased was one of the oldest residents of the county and was highly esteemed by those who came in contact with him. He was industrious and thrifty and a model member of the community.

The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Blenkarn at the Congregational church Monday afternoon and the remains were interred in Lusk cemetery.
