Daniel Graves

Daniel Graves passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, after a long illness with cancer.

Funeral services were conducted at Pier Funeral Home by Officers of Lusk Elks Lodge #1797 on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Dan was born in Woodworth, North Dakota, on Oct. 25, 1937, the son of Inga and Alfred Graves. He was raised on a farm, and graduated from Valley City High School in North Dakota. He then served in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged on April 27, 1960.

After serving in the army, Dan moved to Wyoming and began working in the oilfields with his brother, Bob. He eventually owned his own rig in the Lance Creek area.

Dan married Peggy Willadson on Nov. 17, 1967, in Lusk, Wyoming. They had one son, Neil Daniel.

Dan enjoyed sports, gardening, and card games with friends and family. All who knew Dan enjoyed his company and sense of humor.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, son Neil, and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were by Pier Funeral Home.
