Minnie Pinkerton, Niobrara Resident Since 1886, Dies in Manville Thurs.

Minnie A. Pinkerton, 85, longtime resident of Manville and Niobrara County, died in the Spencer Hospital last Thursday of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Services were held in the Manville Community Alliance Church Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Becknell officiating. Mrs. Floyd Alexander and Mrs. Breyl Fullerton sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden". Organist was Mrs. Robert Park.

Active pallbearers were Elbert Heine, Richard Heine, Bert Kaper, Art Joss, Roy Wagner, and Albert Penn. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Kettler, Eugene Willson, Bud Cantwell, Amund Thurston, Frank Blankenship, and C. A. Whelan. Burial was in the Manville Cemetery.

Minnie A. Dryer, only daughter of William and Edna (Lane) Dryer, was born November 14, 1873 in Shandakin, N.Y. At an early age the family moved to Nebraska. In 1886 the family moved to Lusk and then on to Manville.

She married William S. Pinkerton April 2, 1894. They were the parents of six children: Clarence A., William Ralph, Mattie Pearl, Allie Myrtle, William A., and Edna L.

Preceding her in death were her husband and two sons, William Ralph, in infancy, and William Alvin in 1938.

The esteem in which the people of Manville held Mrs. Pinkerton was probably best displayed by the large number of children who attended the funeral.

Survivors include a son, Clarence A., Manville; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Bedford, Bell Gardens, Calif., Mrs. Julian Guthrie, Loveland, Colo., and Mrs. Dale Quick, Manville; one brother, Orval Dryer, Manville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were: Mrs. Carl Bedford, her son, Arthur, and daughter, Mrs. Paul Reeves, Bell Gardens; Mr. and Mrs. Julian Guthrie and Daniel, Loveland; Willis Guthrie and Mrs. and Mrs. Ralph Guthrie, Riverton; Mr. and Mrs. Don Quick, Wheatland; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dryer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Dryer and family and Jim Dryer, Casper.
