Aster Lillie Buckley

Aster Lillie (Rasmussen) Buckley, 83, died April 11, 1997, on the family ranch in rural Sioux County, Neb.

Funeral services were April 14, 1997, at Memorial United Methodist Church in Harrison, Neb., with the Rev. Neil Kloppenborg officiating. Burial was in the Harrison Cemetery. Memorials are to the Memorial United Methodist Church in Harrison and may be sent to the Security Bank of Harrison.

She was born July 29, 1913, in Greeley County, near Ord., Neb., to James and Martha Rasmussen. At age 9, she and her family moved to northern Sioux County.

She married Emerson Harry Buckley Sept. 19, 1932, at Hot Springs, S.D. To this union, six children were born.

Throughout her life, she worked alongside her husband as well as raising their children on their ranch located 15 miles south of Harrison, Neb. Her husband died June 10, 1980. She continued to reside on the family ranch until her death.

Her happiest moments were spent with her family, playing cards, doing word puzzles and attending Morning Circle of the Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, five brothers, daughter Erma and one grandson.

She will be sadly missed by her survivors. Survivors include brother Paul Rasmussen of Denver; children Edith Mack of Scottsbluff, Neb., Kathryn Larson and husband Jack of Lusk, Emerson Junior Buckley and wife Hazel of Harrison Neb., Dorothy Jordan and husband Dale of Lusk, Jack Buckley and wife Rosena of Harrison, Neb.; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large circle of friends.

Chamberlain Chapel of Crawford was in charge of arrangements.
