Services for John L. Bayne Held Friday

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the McColley Chapel in Newcastle for John Lester Bayne, 23. The Rev. Kenneth Rice officiated. Burial was made in the Odd Fellows addition of Greenwood Cemetery at Newcastle.

Bayne was fatally injured in a truck accident, Sept. 15, near Monticello, Utah. It is reported that the truck Bayne was driving, left the highway while going around a hairpin curve throwing him out of the cab, causing fatal head injuries.

John L. Bayne was born June 20, 1934, at Newcastle, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bayne. He received his education in Weston county schools. On July 1, 1953, he married Miss Marjory Traphagan of Lance Creek. He was working for Four States Mud Co. as a driver at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, three children, Diana Faye, 3, John Bradley, 2, and Danny Joe, five months; his parents, two sisters, Kay Prell of Newcastle and Rita Vailhauer, Glendive, Mont., and one brother, Steve.

Lester Bayne, Newcastle, and Mrs. Joe Traphagan of Lance Creek flew to Farminton, N.M. after learning of the accident. Mrs. John Bayne returned by plane with her father-in-law while Mrs. Traphagan brought the children to Lusk with her by bus.
