Lena Vyzourek Dies in colorado

Mrs. Lena Vyzourek, a resident of northern Sioux County for 27 years and the past year a resident of Crawford and Loveland, Colo., died January 7 at the Cherry Hills Nursing Home in Englewood, Colo., at the age of 67.

Lena Katherine Yost was born in Hitchcock County, Neb., November 16, 1896. She was the oldest child of Martin and Elizabeth Yost. She grew up in an Adventist home and continued in that faith throughout her life. In 1921 she was married to Emil W. Vyzourek of McDonald, Kan. One daughter was born to them. In 1936 the family moved to a ranch near Ardmore, S. Dak. In 1962, having sold their ranch, they moved to Crawford and later to Loveland.

Mrs. Vyzourek used her nurses training throughout her lifetime, devoting it to neighbors, friends, and relatives. She maintained her RN status until her death. She is survived by her husband, Emil; on daughter, Mrs. John Engebretsen of Harrison; three grandchildren; two brothers; one sister.

Funeral services were from the Federated Church in McDonald, Kan., with burial in the Grace Cemetery there on January 10.
