Flora Holm

Flora Holm passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at her home in Douglas at the age of 92. A funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, 2 p.m., at the Pier Funeral Home in Lusk. Interment will follow in the Lusk Cemetery.

Flora was born in Nampa, Idaho, on March 1, 1927, to Myrtle Alta (Morgan) and Henry Hewitt Perry. She attended elementary schools in Idaho and Seattle and high school in Kuna, Idaho. On Jan. 10, 1946, Flora married Leslie Huff in Boise, Idaho. Leslie was a pilot during World War II and after the war operated a light aircraft business, first at Edgemont, S.D., and then in Lusk, where he and Flora operated the Lusk airport. Leslie and Flora were very active in Lusk community organizations during that time. Unfortunately, Leslie died in a plane crash in 1962. Flora and Leslie had four children, Jane Ann, Kay Marie, Barbara Rapp and Leslie Jr.

Flora is survived by her daughters Jane Ann of Lander, Barbara of Lusk, grandchildren Bailey Rapp, Brandon (Kerri) Rapp, Ryan (Farrell) Rapp, Daphne (K.C.) Rholff, Angela (Patrick) Hayes, six great-grandsons, sister Faye Perry of Douglas, sisters-in-law Dolores Huff of Washington and Evelyn Perry of Lusk, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Kay Marie and son Leslie Jr., brother Eugene Perry, and sister Fern and husband Dale Franssen.

Flora subsequently married Richard (Dick) England, and they lived in Lusk for a number of years, although they ultimately divorced. Flora then Married Ralph Clark, and they moved to Montana. Ralph passed away in November 1980, after which Flora returned to Lusk. in 1984, Flora married Lyle W. (Red) Holm and moved to Douglas, where they lived until Red passed away in 1993.

Flora worked for many years at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital and at times for Cathy Brillhart at the Fireside Inn restaurant.

Flora was an excellent bridge and pinochle player, an avid golfer and participated in bowling leagues in Lusk. Flora was a strong person by nature and necessity. She enjoyed walking each day, taking care of her yard and mowed her own grass into her 80s. She also loved traveling and enjoyed trips with her sisters and brother and their families. She took trips with friends to Europe and with Evelyn and Fern to the Caribbean and New England and also traveled to Australia with her sister, Fern, and visited the Great Barrier Reef. Flora and Evelyn also took both of their mothers together on a wonderful trip to Hawaii. Flora loved her family.
