Registration is now underway for the Afterschool Program, “Tall Tales.” The program for children in the first & second grades will begin on Tuesday, February 7 and be held through March 28th. February 2nd is the first program for children in the third through fifth grades and that program will continue through March 30th. Call the library to register your child and to find out more details. Space is limited so call now, 334-3490!

The Friends of the Library are busy preparing the first RIF (Reading is Fundamental) program. The first of three programs will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 6:30 and will feature a skit based on the book “Tacky and the Winter Games” by Helen Lester and will be performed by the FBLA. The evening will include a snack, activity project and the opportunity for each child to select their very own book to keep.

IRS tax forms for 2005 are beginning to arrive at the library. Also available for patrons to review are the 2006 House bills and Senate files that will be presented during the 2006 Budget Session of the Wyoming Legislature.

New books in the adult library include “Fourth Dawn” by Bodie Thoene, “This Heavy Silence” by Nicole Mazzarella, “Red Lily” by Nora Roberts, “Paper Moon” by Linda Windsor, “Vendetta” by Fern Michaels, “In the Shadow of Wounded Knee” by Roger L. DiSilvestro, “Great Wyoming Bear Stories” by Tom Reed, “The Discipline Miracle” by Linda Pearson and “Oh, What a Slaughter: Massacres in the American West, 1846-1890” by Larry McMurtry.

Our junior readers will enjoy “Chance of a Lifetime” by Deborah Kent, “Lara and the Gray Mare” and “Lara and the Moon-Colored Colt” by Kathleen Duey.

Our youngest readers will be sure to like “Tacky and the Winter Games” by Helen Lester, “Alice the Fairy” by David Shannon and “Zathura, the Movie” by Annie Auerbach.

“Very, Very Big!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Storyhour is held every Tuesday throughout the year for children ages three through kindergarten.
