Afterschool programs begin on February 1, if you haven’t signed your children up be sure to call 334-3490 to see if there is still space available.

The first of three RIF programs, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will be held on Wednesday, February 14. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Miss Hildy!” will be presented in skit form by members of the Future Business Leaders of America. Crafts and snacks are also planned as well as the opportunity for each child to select their very own book to keep. RIF (Reading is Fundamental) is a federal program that has been in existence since 1966. The program focuses on encouraging children to read by showing them that reading is truly fun. Through RIF, children have the opportunity to choose their very own book by themselves; books that excite them and books that they get to keep for their own.

The program also encourages parental involvement and we encourage parents to participate with their children. For more information about library programs call or stop by.
