Library hours are Noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Noon until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. You can browse the library catalog, place requests and find information in the magazine databases by going to The library website is also home to our local obituary (genealogy) and historical database. This currently has over 5000 obituaries available for genealogy and other researchers. Check it all out today!

A new fiction book for adults is “Egrets to the Flames” by Barbara Anton. This is a saga of a tormented South Florida patriarch who steers his family and his sugar cane plantation through triumphs and tragedies.

Other new fiction books include“Antony and Cleopatra” by Colleen McCullough, “Niobrara Crossing” by G. Grey McVicker, “Shadow Music” by Julie Garwood, “Charmed City” by Laura Lippman and “Lord John and the Hand of the Devils” by Diana Gabaldon.

New adult non-fiction titles include “A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions From a Freethinking Redneck” by Trace Adkins, “Kerplunk!: Stories” by Patrick E. McManus and “Just in Time!: All New 30-Minute Meals, Plus Super-Fast 15 Minute Meals and Slow-It-Down 60 Minute Meals” by Rachel Ray.

A new title for the young adults is “Big Bones” by Meg Cabot.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has this new junior title “Cam Jansen and the Mystery Writer Mystery” by David A. Adler. New easy titles are “Class Two at the Zoo” by Julia Jarman, “The Great Texas Hamster Drive” by Eric A. Kimmel, “Keep Love in Your Heart, Little One” by Giles Andreae and “Good Enough to Eat” by Brock Cole.

“Love Makes the World Go Round” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, February 5 and Thursday, February 7. Storyhour is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
