The film, “Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove” will be shown on Thursday, July 29 at 1 p.m. This family film is about a baby orca that needs a friend and a girl who finds the courage to help him. It is rated PG and is 101 minutes. “Geppetto” starring Drew Carey will be shown on Thursday, August 5.

David Sloane’s clients won millions in damages in a malpractice suit against a pediatrician in “Bodily Harm” by Robert Dugoni but Sloane had doubts about the supposed negligence of the doctor. Now, a mysterious file is thrust into his hands on his way to court and implicates a local toy designer in a related death which causes Sloane to start digging deeper. Be sure to reserve this one!

Other new fiction books include “Dangerous” by Diana Palmer, “Storm Prey” by John Sandford, “Whiplashed” by Catherine Coulter, “The Lion” by Nelson DeMille, “Chasing Perfect” by Susan Mallery” and “Death Echo” by Elizabeth Lovell. New YA books include: “Somebody Everybody Listens To” by Suzanne Supple and “Fire Will Fall” by Carol Plum-Ucci.

New adult non-fiction books are “Thriller: the Musical Life of Michael Jackson” by George Nelson, “Cancer: Step Out of the Box” by Ty M. Bollinger and “Handbook To the Afterlife” By Pamela Heath.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new titles: “Crispin: the End of Time” by Avi, “Your Daddy Was Just Like You” by Kelly Bennett, “Palazzo Inverso” by D. B. Johnson and “But I Wanted a Baby Brother” by Kate Feiffer.

“Farm Fair!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, July 27 and Thursday, July 29. This weekly program is held from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten throughout the year.
