Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will be available at the library on Friday, September 17 at 7:30 a.m. Glazed are $8.00 per dozen and mixed are $9.00 for more information or to order call (334-3490) or stop by the library.

Police Chief, Randy Stensaas will be at the library at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29 to sign copies of his books: “Second Time Around : Humor and Wisdom,” “Max and Me and Life in the Boondocks” and “A horse called H-bomb.” Stensaas began writing while in college and now has these three books published. Be sure to stop by and get your copy and visit with Randy.

A new suspense book is “In the Name of Honor” by Richard North Patterson. Lt. Brian McCarran returned traumatized from Iraq to shoot and kill his commanding officer, Capt. Joe D’Abruzzo. Brian, who has depended on his lifelong friendship with D’Abruzzo’s wife, is defended by Capt. Paul Terry. Terry’s co-counsel is Brian’s sister. Before this high profile court-martial is over Terry will learn that families, like war, can break the sturdiest of souls.

Other new fiction books include “That Perfect Someone” by Johanna Lindsey, “The Burning Wire” by Jeffery Deaver, “Whiplash” by Catherine Coulter, “The Spy” by Clive Cussler, “Ghost Night” by Heather Graham and “It All Began in Monte Carlo” by Elizabeth Adler. New YA books are “Demons and Druids” by James Patterson, “Sewer Rats” by Sigmund Brouwer and “The Shade” by K.L. Danman.

New adult non-fiction books are “Overcoming Depersonalization Disorder: A Mindfulness & Acceptance Guide to Conquering Feelings of Numbness & Unreality” by Fugen Neziroglu PhD., “Cowboy Values: Recapturing What America Once Stood For” by James P. Owen and “Our Undiscovered Universe: Introducing Null Physics, the Science of Uniform and Unconditional Reality” by Terence Witt.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has recently added these new junior titles: “The Writing on the Wall” by Wendy Lichtman and “Rescue Josh McGuire” by Ben Mikaelsen. New easy books are “Long Shot: Never Too Small to Dream” by Chris Paul and “Rhyming Dust Bunnies” by Jan Thomas.

“A Pocketful of Fun” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Storyhour is held each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for children age three until they enter first grade.
