Police Chief, Randy Stensaas will be at the library on Wednesday, September 29 at 5 p.m. to sign copies of his books and to visit with you. The books, “A Horse Called H-Bomb,” “Max and Me : Life in the Boondocks” and “Second time Around : Humor and Wisdom” will be available for purchase as well. Be sure to stop by.

Copies of “All the King’s Men” are available for the book discussion that will be held on Wednesday, October 6 at 6:30 p.m. For more information call the library at 334-3490.

Dorothy Garlock’s newest book is “Stay a Little Longer.” It’s the end of World War I, but for Rachel Watkins the armistice has brought anything but peace. Day-by-day she struggles to run her family’s Minnesota boarding house and keep them together. The most important man in town wants her property and a shell-shocked stranger has sought refuge with her family as he tries to salvage his life.

Other new fiction books include “In Harm’s Way” by Ridley Pearson, “Hangman” by Faye Kellerman, “The Vigilantes” by W.E.B. Griffin, “White Heat” by Brenda Novak, “People of the Longhouse” by W. Michael Gear and “Low Country Summer” by Dorothea Benton Frank. New books for the young adult are “Majix: Notes from a Serious Teen Witch” by Douglas Rees and “The Atlantis Complex” by Eoin Colfer.

New adult non-fiction books are “When I Stop Talking You’ll Know I’m Dead: Useful Stories from a Persuasive Man” by Jerry Weintraub and “Swinging from My Heels: Confessions of a LPGA Star” by Christina Kim.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books “Touch Blue” by Cynthia Lord and “The Three Furies” by Kaza Kingsley. New picture books are “Always in Trouble” by Corinne Demas, “Let’s Do Nothing” by Tony Fucile and “Otis” by Loren Long.

“Welcome Fall” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Storyhour is held each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for children age three until they enter first grade.
