Have you visited the Virtual Library? Since its debut in July, patrons have downloaded to a variety of devices and as of September 22 patrons are now able to download free library eBooks to the Amazon Kindle! Check it out today by going to our homepage and clicking on the Virtual Library logo. Your library card and PIN are needed to check out. This is a new collection and very much in the growing stages so patrons are limited to 3 books at a time for now; however, there are over 34,000 thousand “Always Available Titles” that do not count against the 3 items. A new fiction book is “Kindred Spirits” by Sarah Strohmeyer. When life gives you lemons, call your best girlfriends and whip up some lemon martinis. Such is the mantra for the Ladies Society for the Conservation of Martinis. Meeting once a month, these women share laughs and secrets and vent about their lives. When one of the women dies suddenly, she leaves an envelope addressed to the Society; the letter inside reveals a stunning personal secret and a final wish that will send the other women on a life changing journey.

Other new fiction books include “The Ideal Man” by Julie Garwood, “White Heat” by M. J. McGrath, “The Devil’s Diadem” by Sara Douglass, “The Twelfth Man” by Joel C. Rosenberg, “Summer and the City” by Candace Bushnell, “Where the Shadows Lie”. by Michael Ridpath, and “Spell Bound” by Kelley Armstrong. “Retribution” by Sherrilyn Kenyon is now available on the YA shelf.

New adult non-fiction books are “Cocktail Hour Under the Tree of Forgetfulness” by Wyoming author, Alexandra Fuller, “Three Cups of Deceit” by Jon Krakauer and “Key Learning Skills for Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders: a Blueprint for Life” by Thomas L. Whitman.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books: “Secret of the Night Ponies” by Joan Hiatt Harlow and “Every Soul a Star” by Wendy Mass as well as “Smooch Your Pooch” by Teddy Slater.
