October 12 the library will show an Early Release film, “Yogi Bear” at 1:45 p.m., the film is 80 minutes and the library will provide the popcorn.

Book discussion for “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 6:30 p.m. Wayne Deahl leads the discussion.

A new thriller is “Adrenaline” by Jeff Abbott. CIA agent Sam Capra receives a call from his wife, Lucy, while he is at work. She tells him to leave the building immediately. He does – just before the building explodes. As the lone survivor, Sam is branded by the CIA as a murderer and a traitor. He launches a desperate hunt to find his missing wife and to reveal the unknown enemy who has set him up.

Other new fiction books include “The Wild Rose” by Jennifer Donnelly, “The Wake of Forgiveness” by Bruce Machart, “Split Second” by Catherine Coulter, “American Masculine” by Shann Ray, “Victory and Honor” by W.E.B. Griffin, “Death in High Places” by Jo Bannister, “Unsaid” by Neil Abramson and “Nelson’s Brand” by Diana Palmer. A new title for the young adult is “Supernaturally” by Kiersten White.

New non-fiction books are “Asperger Syndrome: What Teachers Need to Know” by Matt Winter, “Married Into It” by Patricia Frolander and “View From an Apple Tree: a Memoir of Courage” by Anna Sharon Logan.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books: “11 Birthdays” by Wendy Mass, “The Missing Heir” by Tracy Barrett and “One Lone Wolf” by Kathy Lasky. New picture books are “Interrupting Chicken” by David Ezra Stein and “Sylvie” by Jennifer Sattler.
