Library News

The library will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2011 in observance of Veteran’s Day. Regular hours will resume on Monday.

“Cars 2” will be shown at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16 as an Early Release Movie. The film is rated G and 113 minutes, the library provides the popcorn, bring your own drink. Also on November 16 the library will feature the documentary film, “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” at 6 p.m. with a light meal. Cathy Fliris, FNP will facilitate the discussion. Plan now to attend!

A new fiction book is “Falling Together” by Marisa de los Santos. Pen, Will and Cat met during the first week of college and struck up a remarkable friendship that lasted for years. Then it ended abruptly and they went their separate ways. After six years, a desperate sounding Cat contacts Pen asking to meet at their upcoming college reunion. Other new fiction books include “Justice Beyond Trail’s End” by Alfred Patrick, “1225 Christmas Tree Lane” by Debbie Macomber, “Feast Day of Fools” by James Lee Burke, “The Dovekeepers” by Alice Hoffman, “Tag Man” by Archer Major, “When She Woke” by Hillary Jordon and “The Affair” by Lee Child. New fiction on the YA shelf include: “Goliath” by Scott Westerfield and “Twisted” by Sara Shepard.

“After America: Getting Ready for Armageddon” by Mark Steyn, “South with the Sun: Ronald Amundsen, His Polar Exploration, and the Quest for Discovery” by Lynne Cox and “The Sword of St. Michael: the 82nd Airborne Division in World War II” by Guy LoFaro are all new non-fiction books now available.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books: “Silver Tongue” by Charlie Fletcher and “Physik,” “Queste” and “Syren” by Angie Sage. A new picture book is “Pinkalicious and the Pink Pumpkin” by Victoria Kann.
