Wednesday, April 18 the movie, “Happy Feet Two!” will be shown at the library at 1:45 p.m. This Early Release film is rated PG and 100 minutes; the library will provide the popcorn, but please bring your own beverage.

The final film in the “Survival” series will be shown on Monday, April 23 at 6 p.m. “127 Hours” is Aron Ralston’s story of survival after a climbing accident in a remote Utah canyon. The library will provide a light meal and discussion will be facilitated by Deane Tucker, PhD., Chadron State College.

David Rosenfelt’s new novel is “Heart of a Killer.” Sheryl Harrison has served 4 years of a 30 year murder sentence for killing her husband, who she claims was abusive. Now her 14-year-old daughter, Karen, needs a heart transplant and she wants to be the donor. With Sheryl on suicide watch, her lawyer, Jamie Wagner’s, only shot at helping her and Karen is to reopen the case, prove Sheryl’s innocence, and get her freed so she can pursue her plan on her own.

Other new fiction books include “The Healing” by Jonathan Odell, “Restless in the Grave” by Dana Stabenow, “Mrs. God” by Peter Straub, “Echoes of Betrayal: Paladin’s Legacy” by Elizabeth Moon, “The Technologists” by Matthew Pearl, “I’ve Got Your Number” by Sophie Kinsella and “Victims” by Jonathan Kellerman. Some new titles for the young adult are “The Girls of No Return” by Erin Saldin and “Lenobia’s Vow” by P.C. Cast.

New non-fiction books are “Revelations: Vision, Prophecy, and Politics in the Book of Revelation” by Elaine Pagels, “Gabby: a Story of Courage and Hope” by Gabrielle Gifford and “Celebrate with Cupcakes” by Lindy Smith.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books: “Inside Out & Back Again” by Thanhha Lai, “Breaking Stalin’s Nose” by Eugene Yelchin, “My Brother Sammy is Special” by Becky Edwards, “Me—Jane” by Patrick McDonnell and “Ava’s Poppy” by Marcus Pfister.
