On Wednesday, April 18 at 1:45 the world’s most famous tap-dancing penguin, Mumble, will appear at the library in an Early Release movie, “Happy Feet 2”. Mumble, and the love of his life, Gloria now have a son of their own, Erik. Erik is struggling to find his own particular talents in the Emperor Penguin world. But new dangers are threatening the penguin nation, and it’s going to take everyone working – and dancing – together to save them. The film is rated PG and is 100 minutes. The library will provide the popcorn but not beverages.
A new fiction novel is “The Darlings” by Christina Alger. When attorney Paul Ross loses his job, his father-in-law, Carter Darling, offers him the chance to head the legal firm at his hedge fund. But, the Darling family becomes involved in a regulatory investigation and a red-hot scandal and suddenly Paul must decide where his loyalties lie. Will he save himself while betraying his wife and her family or protect the family business at all cost.

Some new titles for the young adult are “The Gift” by James Patterson and “Amanda/Miranda” by Richard Peck.
New non-fiction books are “Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity” by Katherine Boo, “Seeing Trees: Discover the Extraordinary Secrets of Everyday Trees” by Nancy Ross Hugo and “Eisenhower in War and Peace” by Jean Edward Smith.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books: “The Secret of Ashona” by Kaza Kingsley and “Best Friends Forever” by P. J. Night. Some new easy titles include “Mr. Putter and Tabby: Ring the Bell” by Cynthia Rylant, “Carl at the Dog Show” by Alexander Day and “Little Bunny Foo Foo: the Real Story” by Dori Doerrfeld.
