The library will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2012 in observance of Labor Day. Regular hours resume at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Have you signed your children up for the Fall Afterschool programs? A kindergarten program will be held on Mondays, programming for first and second grades on Tuesday and on Thursday’s third through fifth grades are scheduled. A new suspense book is “Criminal” by Karen Slaughter. Will Kent is an agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, but when a local college student goes missing, he is kept off the case by his supervisor and mentor, Deputy Director Amanda Wayne. Trent doesn’t understand Amanda’s motivation until they meet in an abandoned orphanage that was once his home. The case that launched Amanda’s career has suddenly come back to life, intertwined with the long-held mystery of Will’s birth and parentage. The two investigators will need to face demons from the past to prevent an even greater terror being unleashed.

Crumpton and “The Everything Sprouted Grains Book: a Complete Guide to the Miracle of Sprouted Grains” by Brandi Evans.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles: “The Secret Tree” by Natalie Standford, “Summer of the Wolves” by Polly Carlson-Voiles, and “Dreamsleeves” by Coleen Paratore. Some new easy books are “You Get What You Get” by Julie Gassman, “Substitute Creacher” by Chris Gall and “Trouble Gum” by Matthew Cordell.
