The library will be closed on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. Regular hours resume on Monday, April 1st at 10 a.m. Happy Easter!

The third RIF program will be held on Wednesday, April 10 and will feature puppeteer Markie Scholz. Markie brings the program “The Great Water Rescue II” at 6:30 p.m. Snacks will be provided and children will all be able to select books for their very own. Plan now to bring your children!

Sunday, April 14 the Celtic musician, Matthew Gurnsey will be performing at the library at 1:30 p.m. Matthew plays a variety of Celtic instruments and with a rich bass voice his performance is sure to be enjoyed.

Are you a magazine reader? A new book by David Rosenfelt is “Airtight.” A tip leads New Jersey policeman, Luke Somers to Stephen Gallagher for the brutal murder of Judge Daniel Breenan. Somers is instantly glorified for solving the case, but to one man he is no hero. Chris Gallagher raised his brother, Stephen, almost single handedly and he is certain that Stephen is innocent. He won’t rest until he sets the record straight.

Other new fiction books are “The Promise of Stardust” by Priscille Sibley, “Magic at Midnight” by Gena Showalter, “Unbreakable” by Alison Kent, “Dead Anyway” by Chris Knopf, “The Girls’ Guide to Love and Supper Clubs” by Dana Bates, “Cowboy Tough” by Joanne Kennedy, “Deadly Stakes” by J. A. Jance, and “Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes. A new title in the young adult section is “The Void of Mist and Thunder” by James Dashner.

“The Lady and Her Monsters: a Tale of Dissections, Real-life Dr. Frankensteins, and the Creation of Mary Shelley’s Masterpiece” by Roseanne Montillo is now available on the non-fiction shelf as well as “Coolidge” by Amity Shlaes and “24 Hours That Changed the World” by Adam Hamilton.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new titles “Maddie, the Fun and Games Fairy” by Daisy Meadows, “The Fourth Stall, Part 3” by Chris Rylander and “Curse of the Arctic Star” by Carolyn Keene. A couple of new picture books are “My Brother’s Book” by Maurice Sendak and “Each Kindness” by Jacqueline Woodson.
