Check it out… hoopladigital.com – library card holders now have access to thousands of movies, television shows, music albums and audiobooks, all available for mobile and online access through a new partnership with hoopla digital. You’ll need your card number and PIN to sign up and create an account and then you can check out up to 12 titles per month. Patrons that have excessive overdue fines or overdue items may need to stop in the library before access to hoopla digital is available to them. “Dolphin Tale 2” will be showing at the library on Friday, December 12 at 1:30 p.m. The film is rated PG and 107 minutes. Bring your own drink and we’ll have the popcorn.

“Lila” is Marilynne Robinson’s latest novel. Neglected as a toddler, Lila was rescued by Doll, a canny young drifter. Together they crafted a life on the run, living hand to mouth with nothing but their sisterly bond and a ragged blade to protect them. Years later Lila, homeless and alone, steps inside a small-town Iowa church – the only available shelter from the rain – and ignites a romance and a debate that will reshape her life.

New titles in the young adult section are “Skink, No Surrender” by Carl Hiaasen and “The Iron Trial” by Holly Black.

New nonfiction books are “Mind Gym: Achieve More by Thinking Differently” by Sebastian Bailey, “Stories of My Life” by Katherine Paterson and “The Forks Over Knives Plan: How to Transition to the Life Saving Whole-Food, Plant-Based Diet” by Alona Pulde.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “The Birthday Surprise” by Tracey West “Alexa the Fashion Reporter Fairy” by Daisy Meadows and “Thea Stilton and the Great Tulip Heist” by Thea Stilton. New picture books include “The Last Christmas Tree” by Stephen Krensky, “Lulu Goes to Witch School” by Jane O’Connor, “Snow Day!” by Jenne Simon, and “Lost in the Leaf Pile” by Katharine Kenah.
