Have you thought about learning a foreign language? If so, check out Mango Languages. Mango is the fast, easy, and most effective way to learn to speak a foreign language. Mango is an online language learning system that teaches conversational skills for practical communication using fun and engaging interactive lessons. Go to http://gowyld.net and select Language Learning under the subject listing. You’ll also see a link to the digital audio library, OneClick Digital where you can search for ‘Pimsleur’ to find complete audio language courses in several languages including Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Russian. Visit Total Boox link and browse the Foreign Language Study category to find dozens of ebooks in many different languages. These free resources are all accessible using your library card and PIN and have mobile apps that are easy to use. Stop by the library with your questions or for more information.

“A Piece of the World” is a novel by Christina Baker Kline. Christina Olson seemed destined for a small life, living on her family’s remote farm in Coastal Cushing, Maine. Instead, for more than 20 years she was host and inspiration for the artist Andrew Wyeth, and she became the subject of one of the best known paintings of the 20th Century.

Other new fiction books are “The Buzzard Guns” by Philip Ketchum, “Treasured Grace” by Tracie Peterson, “Banana Cream Pie Murder” by Joanne Fluke, “Forever a Hero” by Linda Lael Miller, “Square Shooter” by William MacLeod Raine, “Spymaster” by Margaret Weis, “Written in Love” by Kathleen Fuller. And “The Lilac Bouquet” by Carolyn Brown. A new title for the young adult is “Mars One” by Jonathan Maberry.

New non-fiction titles are “Truevine: Two Brothers, a Kidnapping, and a Mother’s Quest: A True Story of the Jim Crow South” by Beth Macy, “Indoor Kitchen Gardening: Turn Your Home into a Year-Round Vegetable Garden” by Elizabeth Millard and “Food, Health, and Happiness: 115 On-Point Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life” by Oprah Winfrey.

We welcome Tina Kitras to the Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library as the Children’s Librarian. Stop by and meet Tina, she is excited to be working with Niobrara County’s children. Some new chapter books include “Secret Mission” by Jason Fry, “The Wearle” by Chris D’Lacey and “Hawkwing’s Journey” by Erin Hunter. Some of the newer picture books are “Dreamtopia” by Kate Boutilier, “They All Saw a Cat” by Brendan Wenzel and “A Greyhound, a Groundhog” by Emily Jenkins.
