The library now has several young adult Playawayaudio books; with Playaway you just plug in your headphones and start listening – no need for a audio player or to download. Stop in and check them out!

“Lincoln” will be featured during the next Dinner & Movie series on Monday, September 25 as part of the Civil War Series. The dinner and movie will be at 6 p.m. Steven Spielberg directs the drama featuring an all-star cast. This inspiring and revealing drama focuses on the 16th president’s tumultuous final four months in office as this visionary leader pursues a course of action to end the Civil War. The film discussion series will be facilitated by Deane Tucker and a light meal will be available. “Lincoln” is rated PG-13.

On Wednesday, September 27 the Finnish duo, Vellamo will be performing at the library at 6:30 p.m. Plan now to attend!

“Any Dream Will Do” is Debbie Macomber’s newest novel. When Pastor Andrew Douglas lost his wife it was all he could do to focus on his two children and his flock came in a distant third. Now he’s thinking about a fresh start and as he walks through his sanctuary he finds Shay Benson sitting in a pew. She had wandered into the church to escape the cold. The pair strike up a friendship that over time becomes something deeper – but, a disastrous secret threatens the life Shay has tried so hard to rebuild.

New non-fiction titles are “Seven Steps to Managing Your Memory” by Andrew E. Budson, “Voices at Twilight: a Poet’s Guide to Wyoming Ghost Towns” by Lori Howe and “The Longevity Plan: Seven Life -Transforming Lessons From Ancient China” by Dr. John D. Day.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books “Tooth or Dare” by Davy Ocean, “How to Rope A Giganotosaurus” by Will Dare and “Space Case” by Stuart Gibbs. A few of the newer easy titles include “Car Wash Crunch” by Lauren Forte, “Pinkalicious and Aqua, the Mini-Mermaid” by Victoria Kann and “The Cold Capper” by Courtney Carbone.

“Fall Leaves!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday September 26, 2017. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday for children age 3 through kindergarten. Call 334-3274 to hear a recorded story anytime. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
