Wednesday, July 18 actor, Duffy Hudson returns to the library with a one-man show portraying George Burns. The show is at 6:30 p.m. and if you haven’t had a chance to see one of Hudson’s shows in the past you’ll want to be sure to come. Library programs are all free and open to the public.

Meghan Casey, award winning ventriloquist, will present a puppet show at the library on Friday, July 27 at 1 p.m. “Rock N’ Read” features the popular puppet, Aidan with his own band and the show will entertain all ages!

It was a typical summer evening at the mall in Rockport, Maine in Nora Roberts’ latest novel, “Shelter in Place” with three teenage friends waiting for the movie to start. People were shopping. Owners were waiting on customers. Then, the shooters came. The chaos and carnage lasted eight minutes – but for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever. For one person, who had been laying in wait since that night, it was not enough – and this time there might be nowhere safe to hide. The book is available on CD as well as digitally through Overdrive/Libby and the 3M Cloud Library.

Lawhead, “Shadow Keeper” by Christine Feehan and “The Dante Chamber” by Matthew Pearl. A new title for the young adult is “The Edge of Everything” by Jeff Giles.

Ainsley Earhardt’s “The Light Within Me” is among new non-fiction along with “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership” by James B. Comey, Jr. and “Cooking With Your Instant Pot Mini: 100 Quick & Easy Recipes for 3-Quart Models” by Heather Schlueter.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “Lulu is Getting a Sister” by Judith Viorst, “The Nerdiest, Wimpiest, Dorkiest I Funny Ever” by James Patterson and “Head in the Clouds” by Abby Hanlon. Some of the newer easy titles include “Mamma’s Belly” by Kate Hosford, “Scarlet’s Big Break” by Melody Reed and “Country Music Hoedown” by Avis Finch.

“Beach Adventures!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Storyhour is held throughout the year from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday’s for children age 3 through kindergarten. Call 334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story, Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
