The library will host Meghan Casey and Rocky Mountain Puppets on Friday, July 27 at 1 p.m. Meghan is a great performer; you won’t want to miss this show.

There is still time to order Colorado peaches? They are expected the week of August 6, call the library today at 334-3490 to place your order; peaches are $40 per box.

“Summer Song” is the painting planned for the next “Paint @ the Library” event on Monday, August 13, space is limited and registration is required. Please call the library at 334-3490 to register for either the morning session at 10:30 a.m. or the 1 p.m. afternoon session.

The Poison Wars begin now, with “City of Lies,” an epic fantasy debut by Sam Hawke. Outwardly, Jovan is the lifelong friend of the Chancellor’s charming, irresponsible Heir – quiet and forgettable. In secret, he’s a master of poisons and chemicals, trained to protect the Chancellor’s family from treachery. When the Chancellor succumbs to an unknown poison and an army lays siege to the city, Jovan and his sister Kalina must protect the Heir and save their city-state. But treachery lurks in every corner, and the ancient spirits of the land are rising… and angry.

“I See Life Through Rose-Colored Glasses” by Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella are among new non-fiction along with “Unthinkable: An Extraordinary Journey Through the World’s Strangest Brains” by Helen Thomson and “The Three Questions” by Dom Miguel Ruiz.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books available: “Waste of Space” by Stuart Gibbs, “Polly Diamond and the Magic Book” by Alice Kuipers, “Stinkiest: 20 Smelly Animals” by Steve Jenkins and “Vernon Is On His Way” by Philip C. Stead.

“Game Day and Friendship!” is the theme for Storyhouron Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday for children age 3 through kindergarten. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library; dial 334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story.
