Have you read, “Neither Wolf nor Dog” by Kent Nerburn? This novel has won several awards and is considered to successfully bridge the gap between white America and the Native American world. The American Indian College fund said, “This is one of those rare works that once you’ve read it, you can never look at the world, or at people, the same way again.” The library has books for you to borrow and then on Monday, June 3 we will hold a discussion of the book and show the film, starring Elder Dave Bald Eagle at 6 p.m.; dinner will be provided! Plan to take part in this book and movie discussion.
A new novel is “Highland Peace” by Rachel Leone Gibson, a third grade teacher at the Lingle/Ft. Laramie School. Alyssa Reynolds feels that the only chance of surviving the pain of a deadly car accident is to escape the memories and guilt that haunts her. She decides to visit the highlands of Scotland, but tragedy and death have followed her to Glen Orchy, home of the Castle Equestrian Stable. Will she ever find peace again?

“Ruth Bader Ginsburg: a Life” by Jane Sherron DeHart joins “So I Said: Quotes and Thoughts of Gerry Spence” by Gerry Spence and “The Essential Oils Hormone Solution: Reclaim Your Energy and Focus and Lose Weight Naturally” by Dr. Mariza Snyder in the new non-fiction section.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books “Spy Runner” by Eugene Yelchin, “Secondhand Wishes” by Anna Staniszewski, and “Mangoes, Mischief, and Tales of Friendship” by Chitra Soundar. Among the newer easy titles are “Penguin Flies Home” by Lita Judge, “There Are No Bears in this Bakery” by Julia Sarcone-Roach, “Samson, The Mighty Flea” by Angela McAllister and “Marvelous Motorcycles” by Tony Mitton.
“Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!” is the theme for Storyhour on May 14, 2019. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year. The library’s Dial-A-Story machine is no longer working; we are hoping to find another way to once again make this service available.
