Call the library at 307-334-3490 to register for Paint @ the Library to be held on Monday, February 10 from 1-3 p.m. Artist Barb Orr will provide step-by-step instructions for the winter forest scene and you’ll leave with a finished painting! Registration is required and children under the age of 10 should be accompanied by an adult. The library provides all of the materials and as always, library programs are free and open to the public.


The Friends of the Library are excited to present a President’s Day Reading is FUN program (RIF) on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, Wednesday, February 12 at 6:30 p.m. The puppet show, “Arthur Meets the President” will be performed by FBLA members and children in attendance will have the opportunity to create a craft, enjoy a snack and select a book to keep – there might even be a surprise in store! Plan now to bring your children to the first RIF of 2025!
The American Heart Association considers February “Heart Month” – and the library has you covered with self-monitoring blood pressure cuffs that can be checked out! These kits circulate for one week with the option of renewals.

The legal thriller, “The Silent Watcher” begins a new series by author Victor Methos. Attorney Piper Dane walked away from a hotshot law firm to work as a guardian ad litem. Her latest case is unlike any other – fifteen-year-old Sophie Grace is the sole survivor of a gruesome family murder. To protect Sophie, Piper teams up with Judge Hope Dawson and detective Lazarus Holloway and their hunt for the truth puts them in the crosshairs of a serial killer, “the Creeper” – a predator who hides in the shadows.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books “Olympic Pursuit” by C. R. Fulton, “The Perfect Star” by Rob Buyea and “The Math Inspectors” a new series by Daniel Kenney. Several of the newer picture books are “How to Tuck in Your Sleepy Lion” by Jane Clarke, “Pete the Cat and the Cool Cat Boogie” by Kimberly Dean, “Don’t Call Me Grumpycorn” by Sarah McIntyre and “Stanley’s Fire Engine” by Willian Bee.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” is the theme for Storyhour on February 11, 2025. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. The Friends of the Library sponsor Dial-A-Story, call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story!
