The “Celebrating the Cowboy Dinner & Movie Series” concludes with “Riders of the Purple Sage” on Monday, April 27 at 6 p.m. Jim Lassiter seeks the man responsible for his sister’s death. His quest draws him into an insular community ruled by an uncompromising charlatan and his brutal riders. A light meal will be available.

“Spring Into Spring” is the theme for Wednesday’s Pajama Storyhour. Children will enjoy stories, crafts, activities and more! The program is held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29.

“The Harvey Girl” is Dana Stabenow’s latest novel. In 1890 New Mexico Territory is a lawless frontier, and one of Fred Harvey’s establishments is being plagued by numerous robberies. Clare Wright, a young Pinkerton agent, takes on an assignment disguised as one of Harvey’s famous hostesses. To get answers and to get out alive, there are only two things she can trust – her instincts and her derringer. “The Harvey Girl” is also available digitally in Libby.

Lee, “Shield of Sparrows” by Devney Perry, “The Tree of Light and Flowers” by Thomas Perry and “Felicia’s Favorites” by Danielle Steel.

Among the newer non-fiction books are “You to the Power of Two: Redefining Human Potential in the Age of Identic AI” by Joseph M. Bradley and “Homesteading for Beginners: All the Tools You Need to Thrive Long Term” by Lisa Lombardo.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books “Tricky Horse Trouble” by Catherine Daly, “Goodbye, French Fry” by Rin-Rin Yu and “Fossil Chase!” by Steve Behling. Newer picture books include “Don’t Boop the Pups” by Scarlett Wing, “Beatrix and the Unicorn” by Lita Judge, “I Love You 100: a Counting Book of Love” by Danica McKellar and “Nat the Cat Finds a Map” by Jarrett Lerner.

“Arbor Day!” is the theme for Storyhour on April 28, 2026. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays throughout the year for preschool-aged children. Call Dial-A-Story anytime by dialing 307-334-3274. The storyline is available 27/7 and sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
