Marcus Eriksen’s “Dinosaurs for Kids” has been moved to Friday, June 19 at 1 p.m. Learn about the dinosaurs of Niobrara County and also examine fossils of the area.

The Friends of the Library are hosting their annual Book Sale and Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 27! The Book Sale begins at 8 a.m. and the Ice Cream Social at 11 a.m., both events end at 2 p.m. This fundraiser helps provide funding for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, the Reading is FUN (RIF) program, live performers and more! Plan to stop by and check out the variety at the book sale and the array of homemade cakes and goodies!

“The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton is the next title in the summer Read & Feed book discussion series. Stop by the library to pick up a copy of the classic young adult book which is slated for discussion on Monday, July 13 at Noon. No one ever said life was easy, but Ponyboy is pretty sure he’s got things figured out. But one night someone takes things too far, and Ponyboy’s world is turned upside down. S. E. Hinton always enjoyed reading but wasn’t satisfied with the literature that was being written for young adults, which influenced her to write novels like “The Outsiders.”

Mark your calendar for two upcoming programs: Cody Landstrom will mesmerize with his magic on Monday, June 29 at 1 p.m. and The LegoGuy, Curtis Mork will be on hand on Tuesday, June 30 at 1 p.m. Learn about Legos and create some fun projects!

“Paradox” is the title of Douglas Preston’s latest novel. When a reclusive man is found dead under grisly circumstances in the Colorado wilderness, CBI agent Frankie Cash and Eagle County Sheriff Jim Colcord team up. Their investigation uncovers a trail of bizarre killings, baffling money transfers and a fanatical secret society. “Paradox” is also available digitally in Libby.

Other new fiction books are “Chasing the Fire” by Paisley Hope, “With the Enduring Tides” by Janet Kirkpatrick, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” by Spencer Quinn, “The Patchwork Players” by Jennifer Chiaverini, “Never Gamble Your Heart” by Lindsay Lovise, “Hope Rises” by David Baldacci, “Where the Rivers Merge” by Mary Alice Monroe and “Knight and the Moth” by Rachel Gillig.

Among the newer non-fiction books are “This Vast Enterprise: a New History of Lewis & Clark” by Craig Fehrman and “United States Paper Money” by Arthur F. Friedberg.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles “The Tip-Off: the Chronicles of Jonathan Spencer” by Prager University and Lily Tripp: Diary of an Accidental Time Traveler” by Amelia Tait. Among the newer easy books are “Pete the Cat and the Missing Shoes” by Kimberly Dean, “What’s For Dinner?” by Larysa Maliush, “The Case of Old MacDonald and His Farm” by Mark Teague, “Night, Night! Sleep Tight!” by Mercer Mayer and “Go Bananas” by A. B. Peele.

“Baby Dinos!” is the theme for Storyhour on June 23, 2026. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. Little Reader’s Toddler Time will be held on Wednesday, June 24 from 10:30-11 a.m. and will feature “Birds & Monkeys.” The Friends of the Library sponsor the 24/7 storyline, Dial-A-Story – call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story!
