The Friends of the Library are excited to host a Foam Party on Tuesday, August 5! The event begins at 6 p.m. and will be held in the Lusk State Bank parking lot! Bring a towel and/or dry clothes and plan for lots and lots of fun!

Wednesday, August 13 area historian Lucas Keeler will present a program on the extensive rock panels in Whoopup Canyon in northeast Wyoming. The canyon houses an extensive system of roughly 150 rock art panels. Whoopup was known to Native Americans for thousands of years, but it wasn’t until the 1930s that the first scientific surveys were conducted. At that time, Ralph I. Olinger—Lusk businessman, Wyoming Legislature representative and amateur archaeologist—provided drawings and wrote to University of Denver anthropology professor Etienne B. Renaud detailing his visit to “Whoop-up Canyon.” Olinger’s account appears to be the first documented field study of Whoopup Canyon. The program will be held at 6 p.m.
