Marcus Eriksen will present “Dinosaurs for Kids” at the library on Friday, June 12 at 1 p.m. Marcus has spent many years excavating fossils in Niobrara County and will share his experiences as well as have fossils for viewing.



Monday, June 15 “Get to Know Your Smartphone” will be held at the library! Android phones will be the focus from 10:30-12 and iPhones from 1-2:30 p.m. The program is presented by Senior Planet from AARP. Any age is welcome to attend, call the library, 307-334-3490 to register!
Mr. Kneel, a favorite performer, returns with the beatboxing and more “Can You Dig It?” show on Tuesday, June 16 at 1 p.m. This Hawaiian performer has a high energy program that will have everyone participating! Plan to attend!


Registration is being taken for the “Learn Canva” series with Roxanne Fish, call the library at 307-334-3490. The sessions will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 24 and July 1 from 5-6:30 p.m. The library will have some laptops available; attendees are encouraged to bring their own.
The Niobrara County Library Foundation is pleased to bring Palisade, Colorado peaches back to Lusk! The 18-20 pound box is $50 and will be available around July 23. Contact the library or a foundation member to place your order.

Kim Vogel Sawyer’s latest novel is “Where We Belong.” Hester Haak, a widow with no children, opens her home to orphan children from New York City. She is entrusted with two sisters and a young boy. The sisters are the children of widower Callum Holbrook who had placed them in the orphanage when he was unable to provide for them. Now that he has a steady job he wants them back and is horrified to learn that his daughters have been sent halfway across the country. Fueled by determination and love, he embarks on the difficult journey of getting them back. “Where We Belong” is also available on audio in Hoopla.

Dundee, “Wicked Onyx” by Debbie Cassidy, “A Good Kill” by John McMahon, “The Lumber Baron’s Wife” by Lynn Austin and “The Wrong Hands” by Mark Billingham. “The Good Fortune of Miss Robbins” by Melanie Dickerson is among new young adult books.
Among the newer non-fiction books are “The Promise of a Nation: Commemorating 250 Years of Patriotism, Resistance, and Aspirations From the National Collection” by Lonnie G. Bunch III and “Riding Like the Wind: the Life of Sanora Babb” by Iris Jamahl Dunkle.
The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles “The Unlikely Tale of Chase & Finnegan” by Jasmine Warga and “Dawn on the Coast” by Arley Nopra. Among the newer easy books are “Llama, Llama Graduation Day!” by Anna Dewdney, “The Boy with the Big, Big, Energy” by Britney Winn Lee, “Trash Day” by Max Keene, “The Pigeon Won’t Say the ABCs” by Mo Willems and “Bunny Hop” by Sarah Hwang.
“Happy Father’s Day!” is the theme for Storyhour on June 16, 2026. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. The Friends of the Library sponsor the 24/7 storyline, Dial-A-Story. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story!
