Winona Verdun Blackmore Fahy

Funeral services for Winona Verdun Blackmore Fahy, 79, were held Saturday, March 14, 1992, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lusk at 10 a.m. with Fr. Patrick Shea officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. A prayer service was held Friday, March 13, at 7 p.m. at the Bader-Peet Mortuary Chapel.

Fahy died Wednesday, March 11, 1992, in Torrington, Wyo., following a short illness.

She was born June 30, 1912 in Manville, Wyo., to George and Bessie Blackmore. Shortly after she was born, the family moved to the Willow Creek area, about 12 miles south of Manville where they homesteaded. She attended country schools in the Flattop, Willow Creek area.

She married Harry Fahy on June 16, 1934. They continued to farm and ranch in the Flattop, Willow Creek area until their retirement in 1965 when they moved permanently to Lusk. He died in 1971.

Fahy was active in the St. Leo's Catholic Church for many years and enjoyed growing flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Doyle Blackmore. She in survived by a brother, Tom Blackmore of Alcova, Wyo.; a son, John Fahy of Lusk and a stepdaughter, Anna Peterson of Fairfield, Wash. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
