Meta Caroline Glandt

Services for Meta (Mae) Caroline Glandt, 89, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Lusk with Rev. Harold King and Rev. Buford Anderson officiating. Mrs. Glandt died Oct. 28, 1994, at the West ward Heights Nursing Home in Lander after a lengthy illness. She was born Dec. 28, 1904, in Snyder, Neb., to August T. and Anna Louise (Beck) Klemke.

She married Martin G. Glandt June 6, 1929, in Lingle. They took over the Julius Glandt homestead in 1929, 15 miles east of Jay Em. They moved to Lusk in 1933. Mrs. Glandt was involved in all aspects of the ranching, farming and dairy business with her husband. Two months ago they moved to Lander due to ill health to be near their daughter Jeanette Baltes of Riverton.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Ladies Aid (LWML) and the Royal Valley Extension Club. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers as well as reading and baking.

Mrs. Glandt's survivors include her husband Martin G. of Lander; sons, Dean of Cheyenne, and Ronald of Golden, Colo.; daughter Jeanette Baltes of Riverton; a sister Emma Alexander of Fort Morgan, Colo.; and a brother John G. Klemke of Texas, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, nine brothers and sisters.

Flowers or memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Niobrara Senior Center will be equally appreciated by the family. Memorials may be left at the Bader Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Lusk City Cemetery, Lusk.
