L. W. Haworth Dies; Funeral At Harrison

Funeral service for Lauren William Haworth who died Friday in Lynwood, Calif., was being held this Wednesday at the Methodist Church at Harrison under the direction of the Peet Mortuary with Reverend Larry R. Shrout officiating. The Methodist Church Choir is singing "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "What a Friend We Have In Jesus." Organist is Mrs. Robert Todd. Pallbearers are grandsons, Keith, Raymond, Eldon, Tom and Steve Haworth and Tom Rea.

Lauren Haworth, son of William C. and Margaret E. Haworth was born on January 13, 1886, at Bangor, Iowa. He was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage August 24 and died at St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood September 10.

He moved from Iowa in 1905 and filed on a homestead near Andrews, Nebr., where he lived until 1919 when he purchased his father's homestead and lived there until 1941.

He married Villa May Rizor November 26, 1913, at Harrison. They had five children. She died May 15, 1927, in Casper. August 18, 1941, he married Mable Sailors at Alliance, Nebr., and moved to Bell, Calif., where they made their home until his death. He was employed for 15 years as a security guard for the Thoroughbred Racing Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mable; four sons, Harry, Seal Beach, Calif., Kenneth, Whittier, Calif., William, Scottsbluff, and Howard, Lusk; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Waltz, Whittier, Calif.; and a stepson, Roger Sailors, Redondo Beach, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. His parents, one daughter, Margaret, five sisters and brothers, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild died previously.
