Lester J. Hoffman

Services for Lester J. Hoffman, 74, of Midwest were conducted Friday, May 14, 1993 at Bustard Funeral Home by Rev. Lance Miles of First Baptist of Edgerton.

Mr. Hoffman died May 10, 1993, at his home in Midwest following a sudden illness. He was born July 14, 1918, at Alliance, Neb., the son of John and Edna (Ring) Hoffman. The family moved to Lusk when he was 10 days old and he grew up on a ranch in the Hat Creek area.

He graduated from Lusk High School in 1937 and then served with the Wyoming National Guard. During WWII he worked for Northrup Aircraft Company in Hawthorne, Calif.

On August 4, 1945, he married Edith M. Jackson in Las Vegas, Nev.

The couple lived at Pine Island, Minn., for a few years and then returned to Lance Creek where Mr. Hoffman began a career in well servicing. He worked in the Salt Creek Oil Field after moving to Midwest in 1954.

Mr. Hoffman was a member of the Salt Creek Lions Club, International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge of Casper, First Baptist Church of Edgerton and was president of the Salt Creek Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John of Casper; a brother, Donald M. Hoffman of Carson City, Nev., a sister Eileen Brus of Bastrop, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Contributions to the Diabetes Association or to the Blue Envelope Health Fund would be appreciated by the family.
