Mrs. Jensen Dies Ten Days After Husband

Mrs. J. P. Jensen, 87, pioneer resident of the Hat Creek community, died at the Spencer Hospital Friday just ten days after her husband's death. Becoming ill Sunday night, Mrs. Jensen was brought in to the hospital where her illness was diagnosed as pneumonia.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Roger Koen in charge. "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung by Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Lyle Eddy. Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Pallbearers were: Clarence Darling, J. Robert Vollmer, Howell Bryant, Dennis Lorenzen, Larry Lorenzen and Jess Moore. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Anna Georgina Jorgensen was born at Manistee, Mich., one of a family of ten children born to Anne Marie and John K. Jorgensen. While she was a small child the family moved to Racine, Wis. She married Jens Peter Jensen September 15, 1892. They were the parents of 13 children, two died in infancy, followed by Arthur in 1946 and LeRoy in 1947.

Mr. and Mrs. Jensen came to the Hat Creek Community in 1910 and established their home, which was their home continuously for over 50 years. Mr. Jensen died April 4, ending a remarkable married life of more than 68 years.

Surviving are five sons, Albert of Scenic, So. Dak., Joseph of Honesdale, Penn., Earl of Lusk, Elmer of Worland, and Marvin of the family home; four daughters, Anna of Keeline, Verna of Yakima, Wash., Gladys of Atherton, Calif., and Edith of Fresno, Calif.; a brother and two sisters in Racine, Wis. 23 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
