Darlene Mary Lee Martin

Services were held for Darlene Mary Lee Martin, age 74, Sunday in Cody, Wyo. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Cody.

Mrs. Martin passed away February 3, at West Park Long Term Care Center in Cody.

She was born January 8, 1920, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Legrand M. "Dick" and Ruby Baker Lee.

She grew up on her grandfather's homestead, north of Keeline, Wyo. She graduated from Manville High School in Manville, Wyo.

She married Edward H. Martin on May 22, 1938, in Hot Springs, S.D. Following their marriage, they lived on a ranch near Lost Springs, Wyo. In 1959, Darlene attended cosmetology school in Sheridan, Wyo. and continued living in the Sheridan and Ulm, Wyo. areas for a number of years. During her lifetime, she lived in numerous Wyoming communities.

She worked as a cosmetologist and as a caretaker on a number of ranches in the Sheridan, Shell and Lovell areas in Wyoming. She was a member of the Powder River American Legion Auxiliary of Casper, Wyo., the Fancy Farmers Garden Club and the BPOE Does of Sheridan, Wyo. Darlene moved to Cody from Sheridan seven years ago.

Her survivors include a daughter, Faira Mooney of Powell, Wyo.; a son, Ivol Martin of Scappoose, Ore.; a brother, Steve L. Lee of Ranchester, Wyo.; and five grandchildren, Rhonda Kastner, Cathi Brasher, Darla Brown and Greg and Shelly Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one grandson.

Ballard Funeral Home in Cody, Wyo. was in charge of arrangements.
