George Earl Martin
George Earl Martin
George Earl Martin, the son of Andy Lester Martin and Ida Mae Hales, was born on May 22, 1939 in Lusk. He passed away on March 16, 1996 at the Thayer County Hospital in Hebron, Neb., at the age of 56 years, 10 months and six days.
Martin attended the Indian Creek School in Lusk and throughout his life worked for many construction companies including: Lamb Construction of Torrington; Martin and Heath Construction of Lusk; Pfister Construction of Lusk and for nearly 20 years, Williams Drilling of Belvidere, Neb. Martin served with the National Guard and was honorably discharged on Feb. 10, 1960 and then served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on Jan. 31, 1965.
Martin was preceded in death by his father Andy and one son, Troy Edward Martin. He is survived by his mother Ida Mae Doane of Casper and his children; Earl Martin and wife Janie of Hebron, Neb.; Randy Martin and wife Lorie of Gering, Neb.; Georgeanne Glahn and husband Jeffery of Des Moines, Iowa; Charles Martin of Witchita, Kan.; George Martin and wife Kelly of Saronville, Neb.; Melinda Dorrance and husband Daniel of Oceanside, Calif.; Roberta Buchanan and husband Bradley of Clay Center, Neb.; Alta Paugh and husband James of Belvidere, Neb.; Ralph Ekis of Arlington, Texas; mother of Charles, George, Melinda, Roberta, Alta, Ralph and Pearl; 21 grandchildren; one brother, Stanley Martin and wife Mary Ann of Casper and three sisters, Peggy Jo Juglar of Casper; Andrea Roth and husband Jerry of Pima, Ariz., and Linda Gail Keenan and Ken of Manville.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday, March 20, 1996 at 10 a.m. from the Price Funeral Home Chapel in Hebron, Neb., with Minister John Walton officiating. Music was "Sweet Harmony", "He's Still There", "Cast Your Cares on the Lord' and "Somebody's Praying for Me."
Honorary pallbearers were Ron Williams, Jack Krakow and Harvey Woodward.
Memorials may go to the American Cancer Society.
Price Funeral Home of Hebron and Davenport, Neb., was in charge of the arrangements.
