Service Last Thursday for Florence Martin

Funeral service was held for Florence Martin, 79, a former resident in the Kirtley area at the Peet Chapel last Thursday, Dec. 6, at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Martin died Dec. 3 at the hospital in Crawford, Nebr.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger conducted the service with Mrs. J.P. Watson as organist. Dan Christian, soloist, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden".

Casket bearers were Bob Francher, John Jassman, Levern James, Walter Zerbst, Ernest Hales and Chris Jassman. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Florence Elizabeth Martin, daughter of Eli and Lucy Sowers, was born May 23, 1894, at Crawford. She attended schools in Crawford and at the age of 17, in 1911, she married George H. Martin and they moved to the Kirtley community. In 1950 she moved to Worland where she owned and operated a rooming house for 15 years. She moved to Lusk in 1965. For the past two months she has resided at the Ponderosa Villa in Crawford.

Mrs. Martin is survived by six children, Virgil Martin, Lusk; Andy Martin, Belvidere, Nebr.; Opal Plumb, Lusk; Earl Pat Martin, Reno, Nev.; Pearl Chrisman, San Diego, Calif. and Ila Margagliano, College Park Md.; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Her husband, parents, one brother and one sister died previously.
