Requiem Mass Said for Edwin Pfister Thursday

A Requiem Mass was said for
Thomas  Edwin Pfister, 72, prominent Niobrara County rancher, at St. Leo's Catholic Church by Father T. J. Tracey at 10:00 a.m. last Thursday. Rosary Services were held at the Peet Chapel last Wednesday evening at eight o'clock. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Casket bearers were; Bill Huey, Henry Wasserburger, Jr., Sam Hale, Charles Pfister, Dan Hanson, Paul Pfister, Horace Graham and James E. Barrett.

He was born at his fathers' ranch home near Node on April 17, 1895, to John and Ella Pfister, and died July 31, 1967 at his ranch 35 miles north of Lusk of lung cancer.

He attended schools at Node and Lusk and Junction City Kan. He was engaged in ranching all of his life, having homesteaded on his present ranch in 1916.

He was married to Martha Elizabeth Huey at Junction City, in 1915, and they were the parents of three children.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Jim of Lusk and Jack of Hat Creek, and one daughter, Mildred McGee of Laramie; five grandchildren, Jack and Pat Pfister, James Pfister, Jr., and Kathleen and Michael McGee; two brothers, Valentine of Crawford and Richard of Edgemont; three sisters, Jane Joy of Kaycee, Anne Wasserburger of Hat Creek, and Frances Anderson of Long Beach, Calif. and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, five brothers and two sisters died previously.

Barrett. Cheyenne, and Dr. and Mrs. Charles Pfister, Sheridan; James Pfister, Jr., Milford, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert McGee and family, Laramie.
