Frances E. Pfister

Former long time Niobrara County resident, Frances E. Pfister, died Monday at a Crawford nursing home, where she had resided for the last six years.

Mrs. Pfister, 90, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Seichter in Henry, Ill., where she grew up and finished school.

She was the wife of Thomas Pfister, whom she married in May, 1916, in Henry. They settled as man and wife on Thomas' homestead south of Node.

Mr. Pfister died in 1954, but his wife continued to live on the ranch until moving to Crawford.

She was an active member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and St. Leo's Altar and rosary societies, all in Lusk, the Node homemakers club and the Wyoming Farm Bureau.

Mrs. Pfister is survived by four sons, Paul and Joe, both of Node, George of Chadron and Leo of Whitney, Neb.; a daughter, Sister M. Colita, O.S.C., of Omaha; three sisters, Bertha and Caroline Seichter and Rose Fehring, all of Illinois; six grandchildren; a large number of nieces and nephews, and many friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Louis, in 1929.

A rosary was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 7:45 p.m. at Peet Mortuary, with the Rev. John Dennett officiating.

A mass was set for Thursday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, with Bishop Hubert M. Newell as celebrant and the Rev. Hargarten and Dennett as concelebrants.

Karen Edinger will be the organist and Jeraldine Waldock the soloist.

Burial was to follow at Lusk Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Baribeau, Charles Bruch, Henry Wasserburger, Jr., Frank Kuhn, William Dockery and George Schafer.
