Mrs. Diana Wilkison Dies From Car Accident

Mrs. Ronald (Diana) Wilkison, 24, of Mills and formerly of Lusk died from internal injuries received in a one-car accident two miles west of Douglas Sunday evening.

En route home from Lusk, Mrs. Wilkison who driving the car was accompanied by her husband and their three children. The vehicle hit a slick spot in the road and crashed against a post in the barrow pit, throwing her and two year old Wendi out the back window. They were taken to the Douglas hospital where Mrs. Wilkison died approximately one hour after the accident. The little girl suffered head concussions and bruises and was taken to the Natrona County Memorial Hospital (Casper). She is reported to be improving satisfactorily.

Also injured in the accident was seven-year-old Bradley, who received a broken left foot, neck injuries and bruises. Mr. Wilkison was badly bruised, but five-year old Kenneth escaped without injuries.

Funeral service was being conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Peet Mortuary with the Rev. Don Dusenberry of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.

Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was organist and accompanied Mrs. Hobart Cockreham and Mrs. Carl Peterson as they sang "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "Room At The Cross For You."

Casket bearers are uncles, Leslie Schnorenberg, Walter Schnorenberg, Jr., Richard Vondra, Kenneth Vondra, Clifford Wilkison and Bud Wilkison.

Diana Lee Schnorenberg was born April 25, 1947, in Lusk. She and Mr. Wilkison were married September 7, 1963, at Vernal, Utah.

Survivors include her widower and three children of the family home; father Richard Schnorenberg, and Mrs. Schnorenberg, Lusk; mother Mrs. Ralph Schloatman, and Mr. Schloatman, Brush, Colo.; brother, AW2 Bernie Schnorenberg, Patuxent, Md., step-brothers, Jerry Weymouth and Richard Weymouth both of Lusk; step-sister, Mrs. Bonnie Pitmon, Mrs. Walter Schnorenberg Sr., Lusk; step-grandmother; Mrs. Edith Heitz, Casper.
