Mrs. Grant Dies At Ranch Friday

Mrs. Delia A. Grant, 70, died suddenly at her home near Keeline, Friday. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. from Peet Chapel with Otha B. Holcomb officiating. Burial was in the Jireh Cemetery.

A mixed quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Lavonne Pfeifer, Mrs. Carl Peterson and Roy Elder sang "Abide With Me," "Rock of Ages," and "Crossing the Bar." Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was organist.

Active pallbearers were Emery Gaukel, James McCallister, Art Jones, Ray Edwards, Fred Kettler, and Richard Heine. Honorary pallbearers were O. M. Rasmussen, Del Shoopman, Charles Gaukel, Burt Jones, Claire Lee and Jim Ringer.

Delia Adeline Harding, daughter of Joseph and Delia Harding was born December 30, 1888 at Wessington Springs, S.D. She spent the first seven years of her childhood near Wessington Springs and after her mothers death the family moved to Marshall County, Iowa. She attended school and Normal Teachers Training after which she taught in the public school system.

In 1908 she married George Hamilton Grant of Rhodes, Iowa coming to Lusk the same year. They lived here a short time before homesteading a half mile west of Jireh.

She took an active interest in community affairs including the Jireh College and Public school activities. She was an active member of the Keeline Congregational Church.

Survivors include two sons, Neil A. Grant of Keeline and Robert W. Grant. Grangeville, Idaho; three daughters, Frances R. Hegglund, Clearfield, Utah; Claudia A. Dalton, Tucson, Ariz., Mary Eleanor Germann, Node. Five sisters, Laura Jacobson, Casper, Josephine Harding, Tucson, Ariz.; Blanche Whitamore , and Vera Frieboth, Marshaltown, Iowa and Edith Harding Pittsburg, Pann.; two brothers, Clayton and Ray Harding, Casper; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren also survive.

Her parents, her husband, one son, Maurice George and one daughter Josephine Elizabeth Glenn and two brothers, Merrill and Claudius Harding previously died.
