Alice Larson Dies at Chadron

The following obituary is entered as printed in the Lusk Herald. Also, the birth year used was 1906, as this is what is on the gravestone, and recorded in the Social Security Index.

Funeral service was held for Alice Rae Larson, 67, on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the United Memorial Methodist Church in Harrison. Mrs. (Larson) died August 8 at Chadron.

The Rev. C. Robert Todd conducted the service with Kenneth and Roeme Hutson singining "In Times Like These", "Home on the Range" and "Beyond the Sunset". Organist was Mrs. Ruth Hall.

Honorary pallbearers were Elmer Pullen, Ernest Pullen, Bill Coffee, Leslie DeKay, Otto York, Clark Hickey and Frank Harris.

Casket bearers were Jack McMaster, Kenneth Watson, Duke Rabe, Dick Herren, Dan Mack and Robert York. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Alice Rae Hamaker was born Dec. 28, 1907, to Ruby V. McCoy and Raymond T. Hamaker. She spent her childhood in Wyoming and attended Wyoming and Nebraska schools.

She married Raymond Larson Aug. 22, 1925, and three children were born, twin boys who died in infancy and one daughter Norma Rae who was killed in a car accident in 1949.

She was a member of the Rebekah Woodbine Lodge of Harrison and the Prairie Circle Club.

Her husband Raymond and a sister Leona Gray also died previously. Survivors include a sister Marian Braley of Dayton, Wyo.; a niece Dixie Lee Oatts of Sheridan; a nephew Rex A. Grey of Silver Springs, Md. and half sisters Maxine Fisher, Fort Laramie; Norma Robertson, Albuquerque, N. M.; Vivian Parsons, Harrison, and Esther Ellicott, Maryland.
